The Elgin Area Chamber celebrated its volunteers and companies who contributed so much to the organization during 2010 at the Annual Awards Luncheon, honoring those that have excelled in their efforts in supporting EAC.
“This is our opportunity to say thank you,” says Susan Angell Case, Chamber Vice Chair of Membership told more than 110 guests at the luncheon.
The Ambassador of the Year recognized AJ Smith of AJS Enterprises for the second year in a row. She received the recognition for her outstanding dedication as a Chamber Ambassador by attending the most events for 2010.
The River Valley Workforce Investment Board received the Workforce Development Award honoring an organization that is making exceptional strides in workforce training.
New Member Recruiter of the Year was presented to Grand Victoria Casino for recruiting the most new members in the past year.
The Small Business of the Year, awarded to a business of 20 employees or fewer that is a Chamber member and whose contributions of volunteer involvement, event participation, and other donations are above-and-beyond was presented to Mark Your Space.
Large Business of the Year, given to a business of more than 20 employees that actively supports the Chamber through involvement, participation, sponsorships, and supporting the mission of the Chamber, was presented to Grand Victoria Casino. The Chamber thanked General Manager Jim Thomason and his team for the incredible support over the past year.
Elgin Community College’s Vocational Technical Programs received The Workforce Development Award honoring a business that is making exceptional strides in workforce training.
School District U-46 presented its Business/School Partnership Award to Bear Family McDonalds Restaurants for outstanding support of the District and its students.
Chamber Volunteer of the Year awards were presented to both Nidia Delgado of First Federal Savings Bank and AJ Smith of AJS Enterprises for their exemplary support of the Chamber’s mission through voluntary service.
